Purchase & Order
Purchase
A purchase happens when you buy an item license from an author selling on Envato Market. The total price paid is made up of the license price (paid to the author), Envato's buyer services fee (called a Buyer Fee), and a Handling Fee (which may be charged on your total order). You can make multiple purchases in a single checkout using the shopping cart.
Order
An order is made up of one or more purchases. Every time you complete the checkout process on Envato Market, we assign a unique Order ID to all transactions completed as part of that checkout. For example, if you purchase multiple items in a single shopping cart, the item licenses and buyer fees will all have the same unique order ID. Your order may also be subject to a handling fee charge, depending on your payment method and order total.

Reversals & Refunds
A reversal happens when a purchase is refunded or reversed as a result of a chargeback. A reversal always appears on a buyer’s statement with an accompanying credit note.
For some types of refunds, like author-initiated refunds, the author’s statement will show the reversal and the related credit note. In other cases, when the refund is marked as a 'goodwill' refund from Envato, the author’s statement and balance will be unchanged, and the credit note will be generated from Envato to the buyer.

Referral Income
If you're part of Envato's Affiliate program, you'll earn a commission for the first purchase of every new customer who arrives at Envato via your affiliate link. The commissions earned from the affiliate program are called Referral Income.

Commercial Documents
Invoice
An invoice is generated for the sale of every item or service on Envato Market. The invoice will show the date, invoice ID, order ID, seller and buyer details, item details (name, ID, license type, size, and price), and the total price in USD.
Statement
Your statement is a list of all transactions and any activity that has altered your account balance. It contains information on all your sales, purchases, referral program earnings, and reversals.
Credit Note
A credit note is a reversal of an invoice. When an invoice has been generated and the transaction is canceled or voided, a credit note is issued to support it.

Prices & Fees
Total Price
When you make a purchase, the total price you pay is made up of the Item Price for the item license, and Envato’s Buyer and Handling Fees (if applicable).
Item Price
The Item Price is the price paid for the item license to the author of that item.
Handling Fee
A handling fee is charged per order (not per item).
- If your order is less than $10, the handling fee is $1.
- If your order is between $10 - $150, the handling fee is $3.
- If your order is above $150, there is no handling fee.
List Price
This is the price you see on an item page, and it includes the Item Price and Buyer Fee.
Buyer Fee
When you make a purchase on Envato Market, you pay the author for their work and a Buyer Fee to Envato for our platform and services. This includes 24/7 buyer support, fraud protection, and item quality control.
